Joe Biden dropped the mic last night in a very coherent, very impassioned speech at the DNC. It swerved from a tirade against Donald Trump at times to a hopeful vision of the future with Harris.

Trump accused the Dems of throwing a weak old man up on the stage at the worst possible time, a slot he called “death valley”.

If Biden harbored any anger towards his party for things like asking him to step down and making him wait as the speeches before him dragged on, he never let on. And there was no sign of the listless, doped up Biden that stumbled around on the debate stage. Last night he lit a fire with his eyes and mouth that scorched the crowd with indictments of Trump on Charlottesville (Neo Nazis were emboldened by Trump), his bungling of the COVID response, his constant reference to America as a failing nation (Imagine how that looks to our enemies?). He focused on pinning the mistakes of the past on Donald and the hope of the country on Harris.The convention language so far is heavy on positivity.
