(Crowd) size matters…AI rears it’s ugly head…Planes of existence…
Today Trump went after Harris’s crowd size. Specifically, her “fake” crowd in Detroit. He posted “there was nobody at the plane” and that she “A.I.’d it.” The MAGA heads on X soon posted obsessively a picture that “proves” Harris doctored her photo.
The picture is of a crowd on the tarmac in Detroit. There’s some depth of field going on, very similar to the depth of field shots you see in generative A.I. MAGA heads labelled it proof of a fake crowd. I checked a different video of the same crowd in Detroit and zoomed in on the fuselage. I couldn’t see crowds in the reflection. It baffles me as to what constitutes proof in these times. Does nobody understand how photoshop or A.I. works? It’s just as easy to doctor the reflection and remove a crowd of people from it, just as easily as adding them.
The MAGA heads piled on, one conspiracy post after another, convinced they caught her in a weak moment of cheating. The New York Times reminded readers in an article today that the crowd on the tarmac was indeed real and witnessed by thousands of people, the Times itself and scores of news outlets.
