Manny Oliver, an activist for smarter gun measures and the father of Joaquin Oliver, who was killed at the Parkland, FL, shooting, was arrested at the Capitol for speaking out and “disrupting” a heated debate about gun control in the House of Representatives…Junior senator Maxuel Frost hailed Oliver in a tweet:
“MANNY IS A HERO. He didn’t deserve this. The Republican Chair of this committee just called him a narcissist. Disgraceful.” The Texas Republican Rep. Pat Fallon is the chair…A shooter entered the Covenent School in Nashville, killing three students and three adults. The children were: Evelyn Dieckhaus, William Kinney and Hallie Scruggs, all 9 years old. A school custodian, Mike Hill, 61, substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, 61, and Katherine Koonce, 60, who was head of the school, were killed also….Ashbey Beasley, a gun violence prevention activist and highland park parade shooting survivor, was in Nashville after attending a rally in Washington DC to stop gun violence. She was on her way to lunch with another friend whose son was killed in another mass shooting in 2018. Her friend’s second son was locked down at a high school in Nashville. Beasley crashed a Fox News press conference. “Are you tired of reporting this same story over and over again?” She said. The video went viral…“What do you say?” She told The Washington Post, “Only in America can you survive a mass shooting and go and make a friend who is the victim of a mass shooting and then go to meet that friend for lunch … and end up in the middle of another mass shooting event.”
